State of Pará
Pará, a northern Brazilian state, is the site of Amazonia National Park. Protecting a vast swath of the dense, lush Amazon Rainforest, the park is home to thousands of wildlife species. Much of it floods annually, making remote areas accessible by boat. Near the mouth of the Amazon River is Belém, Pará's capital. It's known for its colonial architecture and waterside market Ver-o-Peso.
