State of Rio Grande do Norte
Rio Grande do Norte is a state on Brazil's far northeastern tip. The capital, Natal, lies on a beach-lined coast that harbors the star-shaped Forte dos Reis Magos, a 16th-century Portuguese fort. Ponta Negra is a beach framed by the towering Morro do Careca dune, a symbol of the city. To the south, Pipa Beach is a well-known resort with surfing and dolphins.
