Vologda

Vologda is a city in northwest Russia. It's known for the Vologda Kremlin, whose landmark buildings include the 16th-century St. Sophia Cathedral and its gilded bell tower. Nearby, the Lace Museum traces the heritage of the craft. The World of Forgotten Things is a museum displaying vintage household objects. To the north, the huge Spaso-Prilutsky Monastery complex includes centuries-old wooden and stone churches.
