Soft science fiction
Soft science fiction, or soft SF, is a category of science fiction with two different definitions. It explores the "soft" sciences, and especially the social sciences, rather than engineering or the "hard" sciences. It is not scientifically accurate or plausible; the opposite of hard science fiction.
