Thornton is a home rule municipality in Adams and Weld counties in the U. S. state of Colorado, located in the northeast quadrant of the Denver-Aurora-Broomfield, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. Thornton is 10 miles north/northeast of downtown Denver.
