Pitcairnia

Pitcairnia is a genus of plants in the family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Pitcairnioideae. It was named for Dr. William Pitcairn, English physician and gardener. The genus Pitcairnia ranks as the second most prolific of the bromeliad family.
