Sporobolus

Sporobolus is a nearly cosmopolitan genus of plants in the grass family. The name Sporobolus means "seed-thrower", and is derived from Ancient Greek word σπόρος, meaning "seed", and the root of βάλλειν "to throw", referring to the dispersion of seeds.
