Arusha Region

The Arusha Region of northern Tanzania lies on the Kenyan border, encompassing savannahs and part of the Great Rift Valley. It's a notable safari destination and a center of Maasai culture. Nature and wildlife preserves include the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which contains the massive Ngorongoro Crater, and Arusha National Park, which covers volcanic Mount Meru. Safaris often start in Arusha, the capital city.
