Black Hills National Forest
Black Hills National Forest straddles the U. S. states of South Dakota and Wyoming. In the north, Roughlock Falls tumbles into the narrow, wildlife-rich gorge of Spearfish Canyon. South, the Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway is known for roaming elk and views of the gigantic Mount Rushmore sculpture. Nearby are the spiky Cathedral Spires rocks and Black Elk Peak, overlooking the granite cliffs of the Black Elk Wilderness.
