Valparaiso Region

The Valparaíso Region spans central Chile from the Pacific coast to the Andes Mountains. Viña del Mar is an oceanfront resort known for its casino and Reñaca Beach. The region also includes remote Easter Island, famous for its monumental moai statues of human heads. The port capital, Valparaíso, features funicular railways and colorful hilltop houses, including the former residence of Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda.
