Mehdi (Fouad Labied), whose teacher father has been arrested, lives with his grandfather (Mohamed Majd) and mother (Nezha Rahile). To make ends meet, the impoverished grandfather works and sells off the family furniture. At school, Mehdi becomes a go-between for his teacher, Marzouk (Mohamed Choubi), carrying romantic letters.
