American Supergroup

Musical supergroups, in which members of popular bands join together to form a new band, are becoming increasingly popular in the industry. This reality show takes a different approach to the supergroup concept, forgoing the requirement of having been in a well-known group previously and opening it up to musicians across America. After a series of auditions, 25 finalists are selected to form five bands, each consisting of a guitarist, drummer, bass player, keyboardist and vocalist. The bands' featured genres may include pop, country and R&B. The finalists are guided by a panel of music experts, including singers Aloe Blacc, Elle King, Jennifer Nettles and Jason Scheff. Viewers are able to use social media to interact with and vote for the bands. Radio host Dave Styles hosts the show. …
