After the death of her grandmother, Ruth Ozeki Lounsbury travels to Japan to collect her remains. But she's surprised to find that, in Japan, cremation doesn't render the body into ash; what Lounsbury is left with are pieces of her grandmother's bones. Five years after returning to the U.
