Jane Austen in Manhattan
When a play written by Jane Austen when she was just 12 is discovered, two Manhattan theatre groups vie to produce it, one headed by Lilliana Zorska who wants to produce it as an opera, while avant-garde director Pierre has unorthodox ideas for the staging. The pair try to persuade the arts trust that holds the rights to grant it to them, while also stealing each others actors, and undermining the others efforts.
