Five years after a catastrophic chemical bombing, a Kurdish-American named Diyari (Kurdo Galali) returns to his devastated hometown of Halabja, Iraq, to build an orphanage for the children. There he meets Jiyan (Pirshang Berzinji), a young girl scarred by the attack and 12-year-old Shérco (Choman Hawrami), her only living relative.
