Romeo, Juliet and Darkness
During World War II, Jewish refugee Hanka (Daniela Smutna) arrives at an apartment building in Prague the day after friends who had planned to spirit her out of the country leave without her. Teenage Pavel (Ivan Mistrík) takes pity on the beautiful young girl and hides her in his photographic darkroom. But when the assassination of a high-ranking Nazi official brings reprisals, Pavel's mother (Jirina Sejbalová) insists that he give up his newfound love to the authorities.
