Shin Heike Monogatari
In feudal Japan, decadent nobles and rising samurai clans engage in a vicious power struggle. The strife reaches a boiling point when Tadamori (Ichijirô Oya), leader of the samurai clan, is spurned by the nobles after quelling an uprising. The nobles seek to keep the warrior class subservient, but Tadamori's impetuous son, Kiyomori (Raizô Ichikawa), is no longer content to bow to others, especially when he hears a rumor that he may in fact have royal blood in his veins.
