Thanks for Every New Morning
Beginning with the Soviet quelling of the Prague Spring, this film follows two decades in the life of a Czech family, focusing mostly on the daughter Olga (Ivana Chýlková). Under the glare of her dictatorial father, a Ukrainian poet (Franciszek Pieczka), Olga grows up under the communist regime, suffering the frustrations common to adolescence and battling bureaucracy in hopes of gaining admittance to a university.
