Womanizer and incessant drinker Ted Wilson (Robert Newton), known as "Honorable" Ted, is shipped to a tropical island by his family to keep him out of their way. There he meets sanctimonious missionary Owen Jones (Paul Rogers) and his nurse sister, Martha (Glynis Johns). Initially disgusted by Ted'sbehavior, Martha is surprised when Ted sails to an outlying island to retrieve her and is unexpectedly chivalrous.
