Broadway star Adriana Roman (Lana Turner) weds business tycoon Charles Winthrop (Daniel O'Herlihy), which further strains the relationship between him and his rebellious teen daughter, Lisa (Karin Mossberg), of whose drug-dealing hippie boyfriend, Johnny (George Chakiris), Winthrop disapproves.
