The Great Impostor
In a film based on actual events, when Ferdinand Waldo Demara Jr. (Tony Curtis) is arrested by the U. S. Coast Guard, the authorities discover that Demara has had many different identities. In a series of flashbacks, Demara's life story is revealed. After quitting high school, he joined the Army with faked papers and -- when his lie was detected -- stole the identity of a monk. After that, Demara traveled the world, assuming the identity of a sailor, a prison warden, a teacher and a doctor.
