The King and the Chorus Girl
When the debaucherous and womanizing ex-monarch King Alfred VII (Fernand Gravey) notices Dorothy Ellis (Joan Blondell), a chorus girl at the Folies Bergère, he asks his loyal subjects to invite her to hi place. But the former king's subjects take a liking to Ellis and conspire to bring the two together by convincing her to play hard to get. When Ellis finds herself falling for Alfred, she laments that he could never marry a commoner and makes up a lie that may complicate their plans.
