Three Wives, One Husband
This documentary series offers rare access to a community of 15 Mormon families that live in the desert of Utah, famous for its reddish sand and the tall rock structures that rise up from the desert floor. These families are unusual in that they are polygamists - the practise of marriage to multiple people at once. This makes their lives particularly unusual and sometimes difficult, partly because in the state of Utah polygamy is a third-degree felony that can bring jail time if convicted, and because it carries the risk of excommunication in the mainstream Mormon church.
