Wide-Eyed and Legless

In this film based on a true story, Diana Longden (Julie Walters) is afflicted with a mysterious illness that keeps her in constant pain, barely able to walk. Her husband, Deric (Jim Broadbent), devotes all his time and energy to caring for her while the couple tries to get a diagnosis. Deric, an aspiring writer, strikes up a friendship with novelist Aileen Armitage (Sian Thomas) at a literary gathering.
