In a down-and-out Mexican village, Juanito (Ricardo Ancona), a young boy with hypersensitivity to sounds, escapes daily to a wooded island to practice his homemade violin. On the island Juanito befriends an elderly musician (Jesus Medina) with an exquisite violin called "Yanco," and becomes the old man's student. Tragedy strikes, however, when the man dies.
