Ajay (Ajay Devgan) and his wife, Sonia (Sonali Bendre), are unsure whether they should risk having a child in India in the midst of widespread turbulence. After Ajay's mother (Pooja Bhatt) is seriously injured by Muslim demonstrators, she tells him about her marriage to a Hindu, Raman Desai (Nagarjuna).
