Bill Yates grew up on a farm in the Missouri Ozarks. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. He taught high school mathematics for several years, and especially enjoyed teaching calculus. He retired from teaching in 2010. . . .
