Thomas F. Saal was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 24, 1932 and is now retired from a lifetime of working in advertising and publishing. His interest in motorsports goes back to the Cleveland National Air Races of 1946-1949 and seeing his first auto race in Cleveland Municipal Stadium in 1947.
