Kitami, Hokkaido

Kitami is a city on Japan’s Hokkaido island. Between Lake Saroma and the Sea of Okhotsk, Wakka Wild Flower Park has spring blooms and views of ice floes in winter. Kitami Mint Memorial Museum traces the history of local mint production. To the west, Onneyu Onsen is a hot-springs complex with a giant cuckoo clock.
