Rocha Department

Rocha is a department on the Atlantic in eastern Uruguay. To the north, the fishing town of Punta del Diablo is home to Playa de los Pescadores and Playa del Rivero beaches, where surfing is common. Nearby, Santa Teresa National Park has eucalyptus and pine groves, plus the 18th-century Santa Teresa Fortress. Farther north, La Coronilla is a conservation area for sea turtles, dolphins and sea lions.
