Vila Velha

Vila Velha is a city on Brazil's southeast coast. The 17th-century Penha Convent sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking the city. Housed in an old railway station by the waterfront, Museu Vale has vintage model trains, photographs and artifacts. Beaches line the coast, including Praia de Itaparica, a surf beach in the north, and Praia da Baleia in the south. Small boats dot the sheltered waters of nearby Lagoa Grande.
