The 2006 Giro d'Italia was the 89th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The Giro began in the Belgian city of Seraing with a 6. 2 km individual time trial. The race came to a close with a 140 km mass-start road stage that stretched from Museo del Ghisallo to Milan.
