About Africville
Africville was a small community located on the southern shore of Bedford Basin, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, which existed from the early 1800s to the 1960s, and has been continually occupied from 1970 to the present through a protest on the grounds. Africville is now a commemorative site with a museum.
