Almedina

Almedina sits along the Mondego River, with waterside parks and the colorful 2007 Pedro e Inês footbridge. Paths in Coimbra University Botanical Garden are overlooked by the 16th-century Aqueduct of San Sebastian, and the Museu da Água occupies a 1920s pumping station. Wine bars and fado music restaurants fill narrow streets, and classical concerts are held at the contemporary Central Portugal Pavilion.
