About Amacayacu National Park
Amacayacu National Park protects a large swath of the Amazon region in southern Colombia. The park is accessed by boat from the city of Leticia, and it's home to primates and hundreds of bird species. San Martín de Amacayacu is an indigenous Ticuna settlement deep in the rainforest. Southwest of the park is Puerto Nariño village, with a viewing tower and trails. Nearby Lake Tarapoto is known for its pink dolphins.
