After the Civil War, friends Dan Taylor (Richard Dix) and Paxton Bryce (Preston Foster) yearn for new lives. While captaining a riverboat, the friends confront Creole cattle rustler Dominique Beauchard (Leo Carrillo). Learning of Beauchard's intent to cheat them, the men keep his cattle, and Paxton convinces Dan to turn to cattle ranching.
