After James P. Hoffa, son of the infamous Jimmy Hoffa, is elected president of the Teamsters Union, he's soon entangled in a dispute between the freight company Overnite Transportation and its drivers. The workers go on strike, but as the days drag on and the financial pressures increase, their unity starts to fracture, and factions within the union open up.
