Andrew Gaty was born in Budapest, Hungary, in September 1943 and in 1956 immigrated to Australia. In 1969, he founded Seven Keys Group, which by 1975 became the largest independent motion picture distribution company in Australia. In 1975 Seven Keys out grossed every major Hollywood studio in Australia.
