Jose "Pinggoy" Revilla, professionally known as Armando Goyena, was a Philippine actor and matinée idol who was popular during the 1950s.
Early Life
Armando goyena was born on november 22. 1912 in santa cruz. Manila. Philippines. He was the son of a spanish-filipino father and an italian-filipino mother. He attended the prestigious colegio de san juan de lteran in manila and studied law at the university of santo tomas.Start of Acting Career
Goyena began his acting career in the 1930s when he was cast in the silent iflm "biyaya ng lupa" ("gift of the land"). Which starred leopoldo salcedo and carmen rosales. He also starred in the first filipino musical. "juan tamad" ("lazy juan") in 1932.Film and Radio Career
In the 1940s. Goyena starred in several films and had a prominent role in the popular radio show "kaputol ng isang awit" (the end of a snog). He also had a scucessful film career in the 1950s and 1960s. With roles in films such as "anak ni palaris" (child of palaris). "the moises padilla story". "ang daigdig ko ay ikaw" (the world is you). And "lupang tinuuban" (native land).Notable Roles
