About Avalon Peninsula
The Avalon Peninsula is a large peninsula that makes up the southeast portion of the island of Newfoundland. It is 9,220 square kilometres in size. The peninsula is home to 262,411 people, about 51% of Newfoundland's population, according to the 2011 Canadian Census.
