Biography of Barbie Andretti
Barbie Andretti is the daughter of legendary race car driver Mario Andretti.She was born on June 1.1970.in Nazareth.Pennsylvania.Barbie is the youngest of Mario s three children.She attended Nazareth Area High School and graduated in 1988.
Early Life and Career
Just like her father.Barbie showed a strong interest in racing from an early age.She began racing in go-karts at the age of seven.and by the time she was 11.she was competing in regional and national championships.She moved up to the Skip Barber Racing School in 1996.and from there.she went on to compete in the Indy Lights Series.
Racing Success
Barbie Andretti had a successful racing career.winning several races in the Indy Lights Series.She also competed in the NASCAR Busch Series and ARCA Racing Series.She won the ARCA 200 at the Daytona International Speedway in 1998.becoming the first woman to win a major auto race at the track.
Retirement
In 2000.Barbie Andretti retired from racing due to her father s illness.She went on to pursue a career in the media.becoming a commentator for the Speed Channel and ESPN.She also wrote a book.Andretti: The Autobiography.which was released in 2005.
Personal Life
Barbie Andretti is married to former IndyCar driver Paul Tracy.The couple has three children.two sons and one daughter.She currently resides in Indianapolis.Indiana.
Business Ventures
In addition to her media work.Barbie Andretti is also involved in a number of business ventures.She is the owner of the Andretti Racing School and is a partner in the Andretti Autosport team.which currently competes in the IndyCar Series.
