C. K. Nagaraja Rao was an Indian writer, dramatist, stage artist, director, journalist and social activist, who wrote in Kannada. He was the first recipient of the Moortidevi Award instituted by Bharatiya Jnanpith for his magnum opus "Pattamahadevi Shantaladevi" in 1983.
