About Cabañas Department
Cabañas is a largely agricultural department in north-central El Salvador, bordering Honduras. It's known as a regional hub of pottery production. West of the departmental capital Sensuntepeque lies the town of Ilobasco, an artisan center that sells ornamental and functional pottery made from clay. Decorative everyday scenes and miniature depictions of the Nativity of Jesus are the town's specialties.
