About Calling Dr. Gillespie
Dr. Leonard Gillespie (Lionel Barrymore) and his new protégé, Dr. John Gerniede (Philip Dorn), must treat Roy Todwell (Phil Brown), an unstable young man brought in for an evaluation after attacking his fiancée's gentle cocker spaniel. Gillespie and Gerniede deem Todwell mentally ill and suggest committing him to an asylum. But Todwell's parents refuse to comply, and his condition deteriorates. When the hospital becomes the site of a rash of brutal killings, Gillespie and Gerniede investigate.
