Charles Farncombe Life story
For London audiences, the conductor Charles Farncombe, who has died aged 86, was primarily associated with the productions of the Handel Opera Society, which he helped to found and of which he was musical director for the whole of its 30-year existence, from 1955 onwards (in 1977 it was renamed Handel Opera).
