About Commelinids
In plant taxonomy, commelinids is an APG IV system named clade within the monocots within the angiosperms, distinguished by cell walls containing ferulic acid. The commelinids are the only clade that the APG has informally named within the monocots. The remaining monocots are a paraphyletic unit.
