Constantin-François Chassebœuf Life story


Constantin François de Chassebœuf, comte de Volney was a French philosopher, abolitionist, historian, orientalist, and politician. He was at first surnamed Boisgirais after his father's estate, but afterwards assumed the name of Volney.
