Cuyahoga County is a county in the U. S. state of Ohio. As of the 2018 United States Census estimates, the population was 1,243,857, making it the second most populous county in the state. Its county seat and largest city is Cleveland. The county is named after the Iroquoian word Cuyahoga, which means 'crooked river'.
