About Dark Woods Justice
Set in and around Washington's Olympic Peninsula, `Dark Woods Justice' documents the work of law enforcement personnel charged with protecting a forest nicknamed `America's Last Untamed Wilderness'. It stretches more than 2,000 square miles and includes some of the rarest and most ancient trees on Earth. The resource has created a black market of poachers who risk prison time and their lives to steal trees like the Western Bigleaf maples, which are used to create high-end guitars and other musical instruments. In addition to protecting the wilderness across the peninsula, deputies search for missing persons in the vast expanse of the forest. Despite the harsh terrain, it's a battle that local officers never stop fighting.
