David Cardiff Life story
David Cardiff, who has died aged 59, helped to establish the media as a subject of academic research and teaching in Britain. He joined the then Regent Street Polytechnic (now the University of Westminster) in 1969 to teach psychology, and to take part in setting up a diploma in communication studies.
